our story.
From Root
|
Husband and wife Dave and Mary Bergeron planted their vineyard, Bergeron Estate Winery in the Prince Edward County wine region in 2001. The estates doors opened in 2007 with their first vintages. BEW has since produced unique wines for local and international customers, with 10 acres of various varietals such as Gewurztraminer, Vidal, Riesling, Pinot, and Gamay Noir. |
The planting and stewardship of the family vineyard gave birth to the exciting and new company that is unWine'd!
After playing in the vineyard one day, Dave thought up the genius idea of utilizing the estates wine pomace rather then simply disposing of it as many winemakers in the area do.
Wine pomace is the solid remains of the grapes after they've been pressed in the wine making process; that's the grape skins, pulp, seeds, and stems. |
To Vine
|
Dave's daughter, Christina, and son-in-law, Biren, jumped on board to help develop and grow the pomace products, seeing the uniqueness of the idea and it's sustainable charm. The company unWine'd was born!
